Referrers

I welcome referrals for the following services. While referrals are not required for the patient to receive a medicare rebate, I appreciate any relevant background, and am happy to provide correspondence back to the referring doctor or regular GP at the patient’s request.

IUD Insertion (Mirena or Kyleena)

Patients require a 30-minute preconsultation with me to assess suitability, discuss risks and benefits, perform any necessary examination, and arrange investigations.

The insertion will be booked as a separate 45-minute appointment.

A follow-up appointment is required 2–3 weeks after the procedure.

Please note I do not insert copper IUDs.

Implanon Insertion and/or Removal

If the patient already has an Implanon prescription, they may book directly for insertion. If not, a standard consultation is required first to assess suitability and provide the prescription.

Medical Termination of Pregnancy (MTOP)

I provide medical termination of pregnancy for patients up to 9 weeks gestation.

Before booking the 45-minute MTOP consultation, I require the following investigations to be completed and sent through:

  • Ultrasound confirming an intrauterine pregnancy under 9 weeks (must note yolk sac or fetal pole; gestational sac alone is insufficient)
  • STI testing (chlamydia/gonorrhoea PCR – urine or swab)
  • Full blood count (blood group is not required)

If you are a conscientious objector or for other reasons do not wish to be the one to arrange the investigations, please ask your patient to book a preconsultation appointment with me.

 

The MTOP appointment will include counselling, medication provision, and a detailed discussion of risks, expected process, and follow-up.

I will arrange two short follow-up appointments (phone or in-person) to assess completion and recovery.

Breastfeeding and/or Infant Sleep Consultations

I offer 60-minute appointments for breastfeeding concerns and infant sleep difficulties.

 

For sleep issues, I work in a responsive and nurturing way that supports infant-parent attachment and aligns with the biological norms of infant sleep. Sleep training approaches are not part of my management.

 

Please note that I do not perform frenotomies.
